The preparation-time estimate is based on approximately five minutes saved per session compared with a traditional charcoal setup.

Where the Cost Difference Comes From

Tobacco is included because the amount used per session can significantly affect long-term costs.

For consistency, the calculator uses 20g as the traditional tobacco reference load and 10g as the XKAH reference load. XKAH recommends approximately 8–12g per session, depending on the bowl and packing method.

The calculator uses approximately $1.00 of charcoal per traditional session as a reference value. Actual charcoal costs may vary depending on the type of charcoal, the number of pieces used, and local prices.

When Can an Electric HMD Make Financial Sense?

The answer depends largely on how often you use your hookah.
